Huge and Fine Ammonite cluster - Ready for a museum - Plenty of coiled and heteromorph ones
A very nice one I picked up from a high grade collection I recently bought (estate sale). The cluster will come with a "map" with all names .
The collector dug and prepared the specimen himself.
Names : Emericiceras emerici + Barremites difficilis + Davidiceras
Age: Cretaceous, Barremian
Findspot: Méjannes, Gard, France
Size of the slab : 57 x 35 x 15 cm
Weight : 14.5 kg
The digging conditions of those slabs are very difficult , and they are always dug brocken. That one has been glued few times and some minor restoration has been done to some fossils along the breacks and the back side has of course been stabilized . It is anyway a very stunning association. No fossil has been composited .The slab is as found.
Due to it's weight and fragility the slab will be sent into a wooden box onto a pallet , of course insured and with tracking.
